We offer intravenous sedation for anxious patients. This is where a canula is placed into a vein and a liquid sedative (known as Midazolam) is administered into the blood stream to help patients relax and leave them feeling drowsy, it is also an anxiolytic which will help to reduce anxiety and a muscle relaxant. Patients are conscious when they have this procedure although they are not aware of their surroundings and will not feel anything. It is like the feeling of being hypnotised, this is always carried out safely by a SAAD accredited sedationist who will be with the patient from the start to end of the entire treatment closely monitoring the pulse and blood pressure throughout the procedure. Sedation costs range from £250-£400 depending upon the length of the appointment and this is paid for the Anaesthetist. Referring dentists should complete our simple online referral form here: referral form or interested patients can contact us directly.
